Bernice Lynch is a marriage and family therapist who has gained deep knowledge of therapy through her thirty-two years of experience in working with adults, teenagers, and children to help improve their lives. She has never ceased to expand her knowledge, as she became a certified Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) specialist when she realized that many of her clients could be markedly improved utilizing this technique.

Bernice graduated from Mount Saint Mary’s College, in Brentwood California, and received her MA in Marriage and Family Counseling, from the University of Santa Clara. Her postgraduate training has been extensive including training from the Jungian Institute, in Switzerland, as well as continued seminars and workshops around the world.

Her interest in marriage and family counseling began through personal experience when she found herself a single mother of four children. Realizing that she would be faced with raising a family on her own she sought education that would assist her in the pathway that life had dealt. This training guided her to successfully raise four children, whom have all obtained prosperous careers with advanced degrees from major universities. Through her journey of life, she has enjoyed a fulfilling marriage for over 25 years.

Bernice recognized after twenty years of practice that there were certain clients, such as those with addiction issues as well as others, who would benefit from from EMDR treatment. This type of therapy would allow them to work through their disturbing experiences causing the issues that were holding them back from a more fulfilling life. EMDR is a more rapid type of treatment that provides a significantly higher success rate than standard therapy.

Through a balance of traditional therapy and EMDR, when necessary, Bernice has been able to help clients improve their communication skills with their loved ones or coworkers and to aid her clients in a more fulfilling life experience.
